Facebook is not built for people searching for a contractor
When a homeowner needs a plumber or an electrician, most start on Google, not Facebook. They see your Google Business Profile, your rating and a "Website" button. If that button is missing, or it sends them to Facebook, a lot of them never get to your phone number.
Facebook often asks visitors to log in before they can see much. People who don't use Facebook, or don't want to sign in, back out and call the next company.
What a website does that Facebook can't
- Shows up in Google search for the services and towns you work in.
- Puts your phone number one tap away on every screen.
- Collects estimate requests with a short form that goes straight to your phone or email.
- Looks the same to everyone, logged in or not.
- Belongs to you. Your domain and content don't depend on a social network's rules.
Keep the Facebook page
Facebook is still great for job photos and staying in front of past customers. Link it from your website, and link your website from Facebook and your Google Business Profile.
What the website needs
For most contractors, a fast one-page site covers it: your services, the towns you serve, your reviews, a sticky call button and a short estimate form. See what every contractor website needs.
